Whether you play Keywords or Scanwords, solve Anagram Crosswords, or try to solve many puzzles with words that you can find in a daily newspaper, one thing is certain: the ability to rearrange a set of letters in some recognizable pattern is easier: solving anagram is key skill.
Abbreviated from the Greek “Ana-grammatismos” (literally meaning “transpose letters”), an anagram is a word or phrase whose letters can be rearranged into another word or phrase. In fact, in the broadest sense, an anagram can begin with a simple mixing of letters (for example, as a set of seven tiles on a scrabble tray) if these letters can then be converted into an identifiable word.
So, if anagrams are such an important part of many word games and word puzzles, how can we improve our ability to solve them? Is there a set of rules that will help us find a solution? Or should we just rely on some kind of innate ability to define patterns?
Well, although it is undoubtedly true that some people are better than others (finding a word or phrase hidden in a heap of clearly random letters), the good news is that there are some simple methods that we can use that have helped us over time improve our success.

So, here, in random order, are the seven best tips for solving anagrams:

1) Circle

Wherever possible, try to arrange letters randomly in a circular pattern. This not only violates the original order and any potentially misleading sound combinations, but also makes it easy to view all the different letter groups that you could put together.

2) Suffix or prefix

Search for any potential suffixes or prefixes in letters. These are ordinary letter groups that either end or start other words. If you separate them from other letters, those that remain will be easier to handle, obviously, there will be less. Remember that a clever anagram writer can often avoid words that start or end this way, so if that doesn't work, you will need to consider some other methods.

3) Common and unusual pairs

Look for letters that often go together and try to combine them. The most obvious of these is the letter K, followed almost always by the letter A. In addition, the letter H, if it is not at the beginning of the word, will tend to follow one of the letters C, D, P, B, T or C.
At the same time, it is a good idea to exclude any unlikely pairs of letters that, as a rule, do not appear next to each other in most Russian words.

4) Only consonants

The key letters in any particular group are usually consonants. They give shape and sound to the word. Therefore, ignoring vowels and concentrating on consonants can often pay dividends. Try putting consonants in a circle to make it easier for you to combine them.
Separating consonants from vowels can also have an added advantage in situations where the number of vowels is strictly limited, or alternatively when the number of vowels is unusually large compared to the number of consonants.
First, when the number of vowels is small, it is likely that combinations of consonants will occur. Thus, it helps to find pairs of consonants, such as etc. Or even combinations of three consonants, such as.
On the other hand, when the number of vowels is relatively large, we must look for common vowel combinations, such as, etc., or even triples, such as (often accompanied by the letter C). However, three combinations of vowels are quite rare, so it may be worth learning some words that contain them (for example, PLANT - AGING)

5) Remembering a few words

If you spend some time trying to solve anagrams, some groups of words (words that are anagrams of other words) will start to appear quite regularly. An attempt to learn and remember such groups of several words may be useful in the future. Here are some to get you started.

6) Other hints?

If the anagram is part of a mysterious crossword puzzle, there will be other clues in the tooltip that you can use to help you. Record synonyms for other keywords in the tooltip or indeed any words that match the topic. You never know, you can write the answer to your anagram as part of a general brainstorming of ideas that develop from the rest of the crossword puzzle tip.

7) PRACTICE!

And finally, do not forget that, as with any other skill, practice improves. The more you try to solve anagram crosswords and the more success you have, the better time result you get.

So do not be discouraged. Following one or more of these helpful tips will help you quickly figure out how to solve anagram crosswords and ultimately give you the warm light that comes from a puzzle that was well and truly solved.
